YouTube is developing an integration with Google Gemini to assist creators in coming up with video ideas, titles, and thumbnails. The Google-owned firm revealed the new Brainstorm with Gemini function in a video broadcast to its Creator Insider channel.

According to a YouTube spokeswoman, the tool is currently available to a small number of producers as part of a restricted experiment. YouTube will evaluate creative comments before deciding whether to expand the function.

The new technology may provide YouTube an advantage over other social media video platforms popular among creators because it provides something not found on these competing sites. Furthermore, it makes sense for Google to integrate AI into its video platform in order to encourage producers to use its AI tools rather than other popular platforms such as OpenAI's ChatGPT.

Brainstorm with Gemini is similar to another AI feature that YouTube tested in May: an AI-powered content inspiration tool that provides creators with video topic ideas that their audience is interested in, as well as an outline of talking points to help them get started.

The spokesman told TechCrunch that developers may now obtain the same type of assistance, but through Gemini, the brand name for the family of AI large language models utilized in many Google products. YouTube sees the new feature as a method to see whether artists prefer the inspiration tool, the Gemini integration, or both when it comes to obtaining assistance with content ideas.

Creators participating in the project can launch YouTube Studio, enter a video idea into the search bar, and then choose between two options: the inspiration tool or the Brainstorm with Gemini feature.

While platforms such as TikTok and Instagram are now focusing on leveraging generative AI to enable creators to create digital representations of themselves, YouTube is focusing on using the technology to assist producers in creating content.
